FishDonkey App
All registration for this virtual tournament must be completed using the app. The FishDonkey App will be used to record, measure, and document fish and then upon submission, the app will place the fish on the tournament live leaderboard. The leaderboard will be updated throughout the day in the App as fish are submitted by tournament participants. All entries will be considered unofficial until verified by tournament judges. Note there may be a slight delay in verification process, so please be patient!
Measuring & Submitting Fish
- All fish submitted must be caught by the JPT MEMBER participating and competing in the tournament and not by anyone else fishing with that person.
- An individual fish may only be entered once.
- Fish should be immediately recorded for submission as soon as they are caught.
- To accurately measure your catch: You must close the fish's mouth and touch the tip (nose) of the fish to the lip on the left side of the measuring board (The belly will be facing you). The fish's tail may be squeezed to determine the longest length. Take the photo in a horizontal position, so that both the fish’s nose, which is touching the board, and the tail, which is indicating the measurement, are clearly depicted. Both the head and tail must be visible in the same photo with mouth touching the start of the bump board. If mouth is open while measuring, deductions may be made by tournament director.
- All submissions must include at least two photographs - One of the participant holding the fish and one of the fish on the measuring board.
- All of the photographs must be taken by using the FishDonkey app and measurements must be on a valid measuring board.
- If there are two fishermen in the boat, then both fishermen should agree on the length. If the fish tail is touching the graduation line on the board then that is the exact measurement for that fish. Measurements are rounded down to the nearest ¼ inch.
- All participants must have their fish submitted before the deadline marking the end of the tournament.
- Video Release: If a fish is released please take a quick video (of no more than 30 seconds) showing a quick, healthy release.
- It is up to the angler's discretion whether to keep or release the fish so long as lake and state regulations are followed.
- The Outdoor News Junior Pro Team promotes selective harvest and would like to see larger fish released to live and fight another day.
Ties and Tiebreakers
Tiebreakers will be determined by the tournament director based on time of entry of the submitted fish. The angler that submitted their fish first will be the leader in any ties. If still a tie the next largest fish of that species submitted by that angler will be the tiebreaker.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards will be updated throughout the day in the App, and periodically on the Outdoor News Junior Pro Team website www.jrproteam.com. The app will update the leaderboard throughout the day as fish are submitted. All entries are unofficial until verified by tournament judges. At the end of the tournament, the top entries from the leaderboard will have their submitted fish verified by a judge. The judges shall have the right to verify that fish submissions are accurate and that they were legally caught. The decision of the judge is final.
Measuring Boards
Measuring "Bump Boards" with a lip at the beginning of the measuring device are preferred but others may be used as long as they include inch measurements broken down to a minimum of ¼ inch. Please use a standard tape measure to verify accuracy of your fish measuring devices. Prize winners may be required to verify accuracy of measuring device used for measuring fish during the tournament.
Inspections
JPT membership checks and measurement board checks may be required.
Claiming Prizes
Prizes will be shipped or delivered to winners no later than NOVEMBER 1, 2019 using the information on file as submitted for membership to the Outdoor News Junior Pro Team.
Livewells
Livewells may be used if planning to keep fish for consumption. It is encouraged that you practice selective harvest and return larger fish and keep smaller ones for consumption.
