Matt Johnson with Clam Outdoors breaks it down all terrain presentations for us. This guy is a hardcore angler, and in this video, he shares his expertise with JPT members on the different types of bass lures. He shows you the lure, explains how it is designed to function, and ways to offer the presentation so bass gobble them up! There’s so many choices and lure types: Moving Baits – these are what you hear referred as chatter baits, swim jigs, spinner baits, small swim baits. And they all have something in common - blades, paddles – something that needs to be engaged when you fish this lure. This is a versatile bait for shallow or deep water, that cast and then they are retrieved back to the boat. Crank Baits –They are designed to fish at a specific depth. Some float, some dive 20 fee, some dive 3 feet, some suspend. You’ll see these as both lipped and lipless, and they come in a multitude of colors. Thrown at a specific depth to fish, they have multiple treble hooks giving you different points to hook the fish. Top Water – Lots of anglers love to fish top waters for the action you get when a big bass nails that lure fished along the water’s surface. They are excellent for fishing shallows, lily pads and areas of vegetation. In the top water category, you’ll see frog lures, poppers, floating worms, prop baits. A great option. Soft Plastics – A popular way to fish bass. Texas rig – a weedless presentation that can be fished in weedless fashion. Around cover, docks, milfoil, weeds this is a great option. A jig worm presentation will sink. The Ned Rig presentation is a smaller more finesse presentation of the jig. A Wacky Rig a small plastic stick bait, you cast and let it marinate. Bass can’t resist this one. This isn’t a comprehensive list, but it will sure get you started!

You've heard about Texas Rigs, Chatterbaits, Swim jigs and alot of other bass baits, but FINALLY someone breaks it down in a way you can understand! Clam Outdoors' own Matt Johnson is a hardcore angler and he makes it easy to understand the difference in that lineup of lures you see hanging a the sporting goods shop, and how to present them for bass fishing in this educational video
